Slack shows you a formal permissions list on the next screen. Here's what it means in plain words.
We can
- Read DMs you send us
- In channels you invite us to: read @mentions and the replies in your request threads
- Open files you share in those conversations
- Reply with questions, quotes, and files
We never
- See channels we're not in. Slack sends us nothing from them.
- Keep channel chatter. Anything outside a request thread is dropped on arrival, never stored.
- See your workspace's member list or anyone's profile
- Charge you before you accept a quote
